APRIL / MAY 2003 Stacey Construction has been awarded the contract to carry out alterations and improvements to Wiveliscombe Primary School. The works are scheduled to commence at the beginning of June and comprise of an extension to the Victorian listed building to form a school hall with storage, kitchen lobby, changing facilities, and a link to the existing structure. It is anticipated that the new hall will also serve the local community as an additional venue for functions and recreational activities. Two temporary classrooms have been installed on an adjacent site so that classes can continue uninterrupted whilst the construction work is being carried out. Stacey Construction’s Managing Director, Shaun Stacey, said: “This is a tough market environment with tight margins and we are very pleased to have been successful in securing this prestigious project in our home town. Many of our employees live in and around the Wiveliscombe area and we are delighted to have the opportunity to work with our local community to enhance facilities at the primary school”. |
