Press Release

AUGUST 2004

Petrol Forecourt Division

Petrol stations – most of us use them regularly, not only for petrol and diesel but increasingly for snacks, milk, pastries, and the ever increasing array of food provisions appearing on their shelves.
Petrol forecourts have changed enormously over the last 10 years, and many are now linked to supermarket chains, or independent food retailers to offer the humble car owner quick convenience shopping for those essential few items!

Stacey Construction has been constructing, rebuilding, and renovating petrol stations since 1986 and is one of the country’s most experienced contractors in this field recognised throughout the UK. Much of their success is down to the dedicated and experienced team of people working within the Petrol Forecourt Division with the highly skilled and hard working site teams at the forefront of their industry.
Health and Safety is nowhere greater than on a petrol station, and Stacey’s have been Det Norske Veritas approved (via Esso) SINCE 1998, with an impeccable record.

The client list that Stacey’s has is enviable within most of its Divisions, and certainly not least within this sector. The Company has signed ITS FOURTH SUCCESSIVE 4 YEAR contract with Esso being one of four contractors nationally to build all of Esso’s forecourts. In mid cycle is also the rolling out of the Tesco/Esso Alliance programme fitting Esso sites with TESCO EXPRESS forecourt shops – it is no longer just the odd pint of milk we seem to want!!
HAVING EXPERIENCED STACEY’S WORK FIRST HAND ON ESSO SITES, Tesco itself has also signed a deal with Stacey’s (who are one of just 6 contractors nationwide) to carry out all construction work on Tesco supermarket sites for the next 3 years. This incorporates new builds, knockdown and rebuilds and any old site decommissioning.

Recently completed/ongoing projects for Esso include those at Fleet Service Station and Holtspur Service Station (both complete knockdown & rebuilds ), Haslemere, Palace, & Ascot Service Stations (forecourt rebuilds & shop refurbishments), and Fernley Filling Station (extension & upgrades) all amounting to contract values worth £1.75m. Starting in September will be the construction of a new ‘On the Run’ retail shop and filling station at Abingdon.
The Tesco/Esso Alliance also sees Stacey’s recently completed/involved in projects at Dibden Purlieu, and Iver Heath totalling £850k.

Texaco are employing Stacey’s to work on sites at Plympton, Macclesfield, Weyhill, Helston, Denham, & Binley Woods in addition to the 140 sites NATIONWIDE ALL requiring THE FITTING OF disabled ramps, the 12 stations now requiring upgrades, and the 6 disused stations in need of decommissioning. Busy times indeed!

Of course, motorway journeys would not be quite the same without bumping into (not literally we hope) the Stacey Construction vans up and down the motorway network – MOTO sees the Petrol Forecourt Division currently on site at Bridgwater and Grantham.

This enviable list of clients and contracts certainly seems to prove at least one thing….. hard work and a team of committed people truly are the foundations of success.
