FEBRUARY/MARCH 2003 STACEY CONSTRUCTION based in Wiveliscombe, Somerset, has won a contract worth in the region of £1,115,000 for the construction of a new Tesco store/retail unit with 6 residential apartments above at Wood Green, North London. The Company is currently working on a similar £1,000,000 project with Tesco at East Wittering, which is due to complete in April. To cope with the ever-increasing workload, Stacey Construction is recruiting additional staff at all levels and the recent appointment of two new managers has further enhanced the existing high calibre senior management team. Melvyn Meek has joined the Company as Head of the busy Forecourts Division. He is married with four children and comes from Devon. Melvyn has more than 25 years of experience in all forms of construction, most recently as Associate and Practice Manager with HSB Partnership. Roger Trott, appointed as Commercial Manager, has worked in the industry for 20 years, initially in quantity surveying, before moving on to project and commercial management. Roger, also from Devon, is married with two children.
