JANUARY 2004 The New Year got off to a great start for Stacey Construction with exciting news that one of the Company’s projects, the prestigious Wardour Court development in Tisbury, had been awarded a commendation as ‘an outstanding building’ in the Salisbury Civic Society’s New Buildings Award Scheme 2003. Judges found the classical design and high quality construction of Wardour Court to be very impressive, in particular the stonework, which they felt to be outstanding. Located in the grounds of Wardour Castle, the three-storey luxury houses with elevations of Bath stone, were designed to simulate an 18th Century stable block, formed in a crescent shape around an internal courtyard. Awards and Commendations, in the form of certificates, were presented at Salisbury Civic Society’s New Year Party on January 8th at Salisbury Museum. There to represent Stacey Construction was the Company’s Commercial Manager, Roger Trott. On being presented with the certificate, Roger said: “it is an honour to receive such a prestigious award for our part in this outstanding development. Unfortunately, our industry gains much publicity for poor performance by the minority, so we always welcome the opportunity to celebrate the good”. Certificates were also presented to Wardour Court’s developers, Status Property Group, and to architects Julian Bicknell & Associates and Hall Needham Associates, and stonework subcontractors, Pheonix Masonry. |
