Press Release

JULY 2004

Many businesses work closely together, however not usually to the tune of £12 million.

Two local companies Stacey Construction and Gerber Foods & Soft Drinks Ltd have had a long term business relationship for many years – in fact for the last 12 years!!
Situated in Bridgwater, Gerber is one of the largest orange juice suppliers in Europe and has called on Stacey Construction to carry out numerous factory improvement s and new factory developments over the years.

Lately however, the two companies have worked together to both design and construct a £12million purpose built factory to produce a brand new range of orange juice. With extensions to accommodate new high-tech machinery, the changes will increase production and further strengthen Gerber’s position in the marketplace.
As principle contractor, Stacey Construction’s experience of working within a Food Safe environment together with an extensive knowledge of the site has been crucial for ensuring what every business wants – construction work carried out safely and efficiently, within the given timescale deadlines.

24hour construction work is not commonplace, but neither is the team at Stacey’s – the Company provides 24 hour cover in order to ensure minimal disruption to normal business. The team is also working on a continual programme of other improvements, such as repairing the service roads around the site – Stacey’s will seek out specialist products as necessary – recently sourcing a special Microsilica concrete that allowed movement of personnel and vehicles to continue on the concrete the very next day.

A total commitment to working closely with business clients and providing them with a highly professional service is obviously a winning formula for Stacey Construction – they look forward to continuing their long association with Gerber for many years to come, and no doubt with other key local businesses too.
