June 2002 THE
ROYAL OAK INN AT HILLCOMMON Stacey Construction has just completed extensive refurbishments to The Royal Oak Inn on the B3227 at Hillcommon, near Milverton in Somerset. Works involved the complete renovation of structural and exterior elevations, and refurbishment of lounge/bar facilities, kitchens and accommodation. The new bar and staircase were manufactured at Stacey Construction’s own fully equipped Joinery Workshop, located at the Offices/Yard in Wiveliscombe. The workshop provides a support to the three Contracting Divisions, in particular the Small Works Division, but also operates as a separate entity undertaking joinery orders direct from outside clients. The entire project was completed within 14 weeks—3 weeks ahead of the scheduled opening date. New owners of The Royal Oak, John and Judy Phripp, are delighted with the refurbishment and, since reopening last month, business has been booming. Among
many other varied projects, Stacey Construction’s
Small Works Team are currently working on the construction of a new
village hall at Uplowman in Devon, four sheltered dwellings for Taunton
Deane Borough Council and classroom/office extensions at Lynton School,
Devon. |
