Press Release

Somerest County Gazette Editorial 18th June 2004

Last month we featured Stacey Construction’s Small Works Division detailing some of the local work undertaken in renovating and extending properties for both residential and business use.
This month we turn our attention to their Major Contracting Division which specialises in both traditional and design & build projects valued from £ ½m - £5m throughout the South of England.

2004 is proving a fruitful year, with 75% of the Division’s turnover now negotiated
with both new and existing clients. Order books for the year commencing July 2004 have already secured turnover exceeding that of 2003.

Whatever the project, Stacey Construction has a dedicated team to ensure a quality delivery of your project on time and to budget. Their design and build service includes management of the structural engineers, architects, and planning regulations on your behalf. The level of client involvement varies from client to client, and Stacey’s have proven total flexibility to tailor their service to suit each client’s needs.
Of particular value is the fact that Stacey’s will design your project for you to suit YOUR budget.

Over the last 18 months, the Division has seen the introduction of both a Commercial and Operational Manager bringing additional strength to the continually growing team and enabling the increase in demand to be met without compromise to any of their clients.
Whilst continuing to work closely with existing clients such as Tesco and Gerber, new clients including Galliard Homes and Bexley Estates have also been gained bringing between them 3 projects in the South West totalling nearly £6m.

The Major Contracting Division has at its heart the on-site managers and their teams who through sheer hard work ensure projects are completed on time and within the budget. To fit in with factory production lines and to minimise loss of trade, 24hour construction work has also been known – rare dedication indeed.
One of the recent projects to be completed for Tesco at Clevedon even saw the site team, headed by David Pengelly, complete one week early! The next Tesco store extension has already started at Launceston and site manager Jason Large has David’s target firmly fixed in his sights!!!

Stacey Construction is all about a huge team pulling together. Shown below are some members of that team including contract management, buying, surveying, accounts and admin.
