Builder’s break for Bishop’s blessing

Wiveliscombe based Stacey Construction is currently working on an exciting and unusual project to build a church in Percy Street, Plymouth. The contract also includes a new community centre with kitchen and meeting rooms, which will provide much needed facilities for the parish. The church and grounds of St Boniface were recently blessed by the Bishop of Plymouth at a special ceremony attended by members of the Parochial Church Council, the architect Jeremy Bell of Maguire & Co, and Stacey’s construction team.

Stacey’s Managing Director, Shaun Stacey, said: “we are delighted to be involved in such a worthy project to provide the congregation of St Boniface with a new place of worship. The complicated roof structure and turrets of the church have proved to be something of a challenge but we have a very professional team on site and works are progressing extremely well”. Final completion of the building work is expected to be in February 2004.
