In a tough market environment, Stacey Construction has secured several prestigious contracts with Compass Roadside/Granada. The projects are at the Granada motorway service areas at Knutsford (a new 54 bed Travelodge), Medway (partial petrol forecourt knock down and rebuild), Leigh Delamere (a new 31 bed Travelodge) and at Exeter and Saltash (29 and 22 bed Travelodge extensions) bringing the total value of contracts with Compass Roadside to a sum in excess of £4 million. The Compass Roadside projects are highly specialist. Stacey Construction is leading the way in design, applying prefabricated construction techniques in the spirit of the Egan Report. The Travelodges are designed and constructed by Stacey Construction to use prefabricated bathroom pod units which are totally manufactured and finished off site including all of the mechanical and electrical connections. The 'pods' are then literally craned and manoeuvred into the completed frame of the building. As the 'pods' require no pre-finishing or accessing other than to lay the floor finish this saves considerable construction time on site and maximises quality and value for money. Shaun Stacey (Managing Director) explained that the Company strives to maintain its position in the market place by endeavouring to complete every project ahead of schedule, and within budget whilst maintaining quality standards. The level of conscientiousness both on & off site coupled with tight management throughout the Company seem to be key. The amount of repeat work from 'blue chip' companies indicates that, with hard work and constant attention to detail, the 'Stacey Way' certainly bears fruit. Click
