Stacey Construction was recently appointed by the Esso/Tesco Alliance to carry out very difficult works to a Petrol Filling Station at South Oxhey in Hertfordshire. The company has considerable expertise in working adjacent to power lines, within confined spaces, and was able to overcome an installation problem caused by the proximity of a 32000-volt overhead cable and electricity pylon. In conjunction with modular construction specialists, Yorkon, Stacey Construction developed a foundation system capable of sliding two modular units of a prefabricated building into place, without compromising Health and Safety, and the local Electricity Board's imposed limit of working adjacent to power lines with cranes.

The work for the Esso/Tesco Alliance at South Oxhey, Herts, is one of a number of repeat projects being carried out by Stacey Construction, establishing a network of mini Tesco Express supermarkets at Esso Filling Stations.

Locally, the company recently completed a library extension to Milverton Primary School, and secured contracts to build a village hall at Uplowman in Devon, a new Swannery for the RSPCA at West Hatch, and numerous property refurbishments at the well-known
